Mary Beth is taking time out of her busy ECMA schedule to entertain our participants, their families and our volunteers! With an accordion, musical bones, and a stomp-box, Mary Beth Carty is a rare gem. Her vibrant, rootsy album of original and traditional numbers, Les biens-nommés, is nominated for a 2018 ECMA.
She has performed in Europe, Africa, and all across Canada. fRoots Magazine describes her as “a solid instrumentalist of outstanding calibre with undoubted star quality whose passionate voice rings in your head long after you have stopped listening.” Alex Cook from The East Magazine describes the album as “quirky, charming, and expressive to the point that it’s easy to forget that Carty is singing in French for most of the album, with the accordion easily taking centre stage as its first language.”

Mary Beth Carty, femme-orchestra énergique, interprète ses chansons sur l’accordéon, accompagnant son public dans un voyage musical de Paris à l’Europe de l’Est, en passant par le Brésil et l’île du Cap-Breton.
Une guitariste tout aussi talentueuse, Mary Beth reste fidèle à ses racines écossaises, irlandaise et acadienne, interprétant des chansons traditionnelles étonnantes venant des profondeurs du folklore. Aussi une percussionniste aux os musicales et aux pieds, le spectacle de Mary Beth ne manque de variété. Sur scène, elle est une artiste captivante et sincère.
