Canadian Parents for French, Nova Scotia held its Annual General Meeting on October 20, 2018. At the meeting, Tony Orlando stepped down from his role as President and stepped up into the role of Treasurer.  Janet Claes moved up to President and Kate Ashley is the new Vice President.

Janet Claes has been involved in French second language education in Nova Scotia for over 30 years. Since her retirement, she has continued to follow with great interest the new trends and best practices in the field of French second language education.  She presently teaches French second language methodology courses at the university level.  Jan volunteered for Canadian Parents for French between 2009 and 2011 as Vice-President, and then President of the Dartmouth Chapter.  Kate Ashley is a faculty member in Languages and Literature at Acadia University.  She is also the proud mother of three children, two of whom are in French immersion.

Tony Orlando was recognized by the CPF Council of Presidents and the CPF National board for his contribution to the organization. Tony has co-chaired the CPF Council of Presidents during his term.   He was also a member of the Nominations committee of the National Board.  He was recognized for his tireless enthusiasm and passion for Canadian Parents for French.
