Mary Beth Carty is a one-woman-band from Antigonish County, Nova Scotia, who performs homemade sing-alongs and instrumental dance music in the roots genre.

Of her live show, Manitoba’s The Underground Press reports that “right from the opening salvos of her sound test, the toes were tapping and heads were bobbing, and this continued till the close of her third set.” Of her showcase at ECMA 2019, CBC Radio’s Bill Roach said, “It was something else. She had the audience singing along!”

Mary Beth released her first solo album, Les biens-nommés, in 2017. It was nominated for an East Coast Music Award and several Nova Scotia Music Awards. She won Prix Granby at Francofête en Acadie which earned her a showcase at Festival International de la Chanson de Granby in 2019. Mary Beth is currently working on her second solo album which is due to be released in fall 2020 so stay tuned!
